    1

    Welcome Day, Acclimatization and Local Sight Seeing

    A 5-night itinerary for Leh Ladakh can be a great way to explore the stunning landscapes and unique culture of this region. Keep in mind that Ladakh is at a high altitude, so it's important to acclimatize properly to avoid altitude sickness. On your arrival at Leh city, our vehicle will pick you up from the airport and you will get a warm welcome from Crazy Riders Adventure Tours representative at our hotel premises. You will be briefed about the tour you are about to embark. Spend some relaxing time at the hotel premises which will also help you get used to the high altitude of Leh, Ladakh. In the evening, your bikes will be handed over to you. You may plan to visit Shanti Stupa for panoramic views of Leh, Leh Palace, a historic royal palace, and Leh market, shopping and local cuisine in the evening. Have your dinner at the hotel and relax.

    Leh Local Sightseeing

    After a healthy breakfast, your bikes are at your disposal to go around the city for local sightseeing of Leh in which you will get a chance to explore places like Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, confluence of Indus and Zanskar river and on the way back, visit Hall of Fame, war memorial dedicated to our soldiers who laid down their lives for us during the Kargil war. In the evening return back to hotel and after dinner, enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at Leh.

    Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La

    Nubra valley is a high altitude cold desert which mesmerizes every traveler with its unsurpassed naked beauty. This is probably the only place in Ladakh which gives a glimpse of snow clad mountains encompassing green pastures. The valley is comfortably located in the Karakoram range, and gives a feel of cold desert magical sand dunes, constantly changing shape and place. Gear up and speed off on the smooth tarmac to meet the board showing “The Highest Motorable Road in the world” at Khardung La Pass. After taking a break for photo session on this high pass enroute to the Nubra Valley, head towards Khardung village where you can have a quick break for tea and snacks. Kick off again and cross Khalsar and Diskit sectors to enter the magnanimous Nubra Valley. Visit the Diskit monastery and sand dunes in Hunder. Engage yourself in activities like double humped camel and ATV rides. You can also use some of the evening for star gazing, before finally having your dinner at your camp sites and retiring to bed.

    Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shyok Route

    From Nubra Valley, have a good breakfast and head towards yet another fascinating place, Pangong Lake via Shyok route. It is often said, that the journey should be more exciting than the destination itself. This day you will experience exactly this, while riding alongside the Shyok river. Reach Durbuk and take a left, cross Tangste to get the first glimpse of Pangong Tso and the magical beauty of the world's highest salt water lake and its constantly changing colour. This gives us an additional opportunity to ride/drive as real off roading and experience water crossing. Spend the afternoon on lake side, eating, chilling and enjoying the water of Pangong lake. Evenings generally get chilly, so retire in your camps early. Stay the night at lake side camps.

    Pangong to Leh via Chang La

    After spending an unforgettable night on the bank of Pangong TSO, post breakfast, head towards Leh. Enroute we will cross the Changla Pass ( 3rd highest motorable pass), have a quick break at Karu for refreshment. Enroute also visit the Shey and Thikshey monsatries and spend some time at the Rancho school. Overnight stay in your hotel at Leh.

    Depart for Home

    After breakfast it’s time for both of us to say good bye and your memorable dream tour concludes here. Our vehicle will drop you at the airport as per your flight timings. Carry sweet unforgettable memories of Ladakh to cherish throughout life.

  • In case, extension of tour in terms of no. of days, is required, extra charges as applicable would be paid directly to us by the clients.

  • Participants are requested to follow the timing in the program, in case any service is missed due to delay in departure, the company will not be responsible for any refund.
  • We require a minimum of 10 riders to operate one group. We reserve the right to cancel any group if the required number of riders is not met.
  • If any group member wishes to leave the tour in the middle, he or she must pay the cost of transportation of the bike from the point of departure to the nearest drop-off point / trip end point.
  • Participants are requested to pack their stuff in backpack and not the trolley bag.
  • Crazy Riders Adventure Tours reserve the rights to restructure the itinerary due to any kind of disturbance or uncontrollable circumstances, (such as weather condition, political condition or any other such unforeseen situations) without changing the total number of days and without compromising any service.
  • If there are any additional expenses due to bad weather or other factors beyond the tour operator’s control, such as hotel stays, transportation, and meals, an additional bill will be raised. The additional costs will not be borne by CRAZY RIDERS ADVENTURE TOURS or the participating partners/hotels, and shall be borne by the participants.
  • Bookings are non-transferable and are non-refundable. Only the names listed at the time of booking will be permitted to travel.
  • All guests will be responsible for their own luggage’s safety and security. We will not be held liable for any damage, missing, or lost luggage.

Q. What is the best time for Leh Ladakh Road Trip?

A. The best time to accomplish a road trip to Leh Ladakh is from June to September. These so because, both the routes, i.e. Srinagar via Kargil and Manali via Rohtang Pass are open during these months, owing to less snow and clear weather.  

Q. My vehicle is registered outside of J&K or Leh Ladakh. So, do I need any special permission for riding or driving in my vehicle during this trip?

A. No, you do not need any special permission to take the road trip to Leh Ladakh with your own vehicle, as long as the vehicle is registered on your name and you are carrying original Registration Certificate, PUC and insurance documents with you. Please note that soft copies of these documents may not be acceptable at certain places.

Q. What kind of roads can we expect to experience during this Leh Ladakh road trip?

A. On this trip to Leh Ladakh, one experiences all kind of roads. You will get a privilege to ride on excellent tarmac roads, high pass roads, hair pin bends, off roading and riding even in waters streams. 

Q. What will be the minimum and maximum size of each batch?

A. We generally follow a policy of taking minimum 5 people.

Q. Being on such heights, can we face lack of oxygen or any such related medical condition?

A. Generally, with an increase in altitude, level of atmospheric oxygen starts to dip. This becomes highly evident at altitudes of places such as Leh Ladakh. You may face challenges with normal breathing or a medical condition termed as Altitude Sickness or Acute Mountain Sickness. We do keep oxygen cylinders with us for severe conditions that may arise occasionally. But, it is pretty easy to tackle this situation. Follow some basic rules like:

  1. Drink lots and lots of water mixed with glucose.
  2. Take everything slow. Even little labour at high altitudes will leave you spent.
  3. Take one tablet of Diamox at Manali on the morning before leaving for Leh. Diamox takes one hour to start working on your body.
  4. Don’t push too hard, take the trip slow. Ascent slowly, decent slowly.
  5. If you feel the symptoms creeping up, stop and take some rest. Don’t keep pushing.
  6. Always follow the instructions of your tour leader as they are accustomed to handling such situations.

Q. Are there any meals included in this bike trip to Leh Ladakh?

A. Yes. The tour cost is inclusive of all breakfasts & dinners for the entire length of the tour package.

Q. Can you brief us on the accommodation facilities?

A. The accommodation is provided to you in both, hotels and tents, depending upon the place of stay. Manali and Leh have hotel accommodations. Hotel preference is yours. We generally provide accommodations in Deluxe or 3 start hotels. Jispa, Sarchu, Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake have comfortable tent accommodations.

Q. In case of accommodations in tents, what type of tent you provide? Are they waterproof? Are bed sheets, pillows, sleeping bags etc. provided? Do such locations have attached washrooms or common ones?

A. Tent accommodations are provided in either luxurious camps with bed or Swiss cottage type tents, which are completely waterproof which comprise of master bed room with attached washroom.  

Q. My girlfriend also wants to join. So I am bit worried about safety and also washroom facilities during daytime. Can you explain on this?

A. You are most welcome to bring your girlfriend along on this trip. As part of our tour groups, there are many female riders or pillion riders, so safety never becomes a concern. Moreover, our team and our guests follow some basic rules of respecting each other’s privacy and dignity. Among the friendly atmosphere of the group, there is a strict discipline which is followed specially w.r.t. female members of the group. As far as the washroom facilities are concerned, during the trip there are many public conveniences en-route, which are used by female members of the group.

Q. What is the amount of tax paid on the total package cost?

A. As per Government of India GST policies, 5% tax will be levied extra on the total package cost.

Q. Which telephone network is accessible?

A. Generally network issues arise in Leh where you only have access to post-paid connections from BSNL, Airtel and Jio. At other halting points, network should not be such a concern. But, do remember to carry post-paid connection with you.
