Leh Nubra Pangong Leh Car Tour Itinerary

  • Day

    1

Arrival in Leh, rest a while and take a small tour around

The day you arrive in Leh is crucial because you should have enough rest during the day to adjust to the high altitude you have just reached. This will assist you in preventing the onset of severe AMS symptoms over the remainder of your journey. We would shift you to the hotel after picking you up at the airport. You can take a quick local excursion in the evening, to Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace, a 450-year-old palace complex, after getting a decent sleep. You can also take a stroll through the marketplace and sample regional cuisines, shop for regional crafts, and buy prayer flags.

  • Day

    2

    Sham Valley sightseeing

The journey directs you toward Leh's Sham Valley side on the second day. Your first pit stop would be at the Sangam point, which is about 30 kilometers from Leh city. Waters of the Indus and Zanskar rivers are chilly and clearly colored. You can enjoy high altitude river rafting here. Spend some quality time here and then depart in the direction of Leh. Stop at Magnetic Hill on the way home to see a natural phenomenon that defies physics. Visit the Gurudwara Pathar Sahib next and offer prayers. Proceed to the Hall of Fame at the end. This museum honors the battles waged for the nation. After the day well spent, proceed towards your hotel, have your dinner and take a good sleep.

  • Day

    3

Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung la

As you take on the third day journey, you will find a lush, picturesque gem, Nubra Valley is tucked away in the upper reaches. It is an oasis in this high-altitude, chilly, desolate region of the Himalayas, and its unparalleled beauty provides a sense of respite. You will soon feel the coolness in the air as you leave Leh and begin traveling towards Khardung La, the first high pass of the route. Stop for a moment at Khardung La, click some beautiful pictures and then start descending. Expect some raw, shape-shifting beauty of the sand dunes along the journey. Visit the Diskit monastery en route, then relax and have some fun in the valley. ATV rides, Double humped Bactrian camel rides, and other adventure activities are available. After a busy yet productive day, check into your camps and enjoy the day off.

  • Day

    4

Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shyok Route

As you begin to go from the lush grasslands of Nubra to the azure waters of Pangong, the fourth day may end up being the most exhilarating of the trip. It could be difficult to get from Nubra to Pangong since you might have to cross some water streams. Start early to prevent such occurrences. The highway you choose would follow the raging Shyok River. Before the magnificent grandeur of Pangong Lake takes your breath away, you can stop for a quick break in Durbuk or Tangste. Your speed will undoubtedly increase as you catch your first glimpse of the lake, which will occur as you draw closer. Check into the camp after arriving to the Pangong Lake side, and enjoy the rest of the day clicking and laying along the bank of the lake. Notice how the colour of the water changes its shade as the day passes. You can also view the galaxy in the dark night sky. Rest well, have a good and comfortable sleep in your camps.

  • Day

    5

Pangong to Leh via Chang La

The retreat and the fifth day of your tour, fall on this day. Start the day by traveling on the same road, you used while going to Pangong from Nubra, and return to Leh. You take a detour at Durbuk and turn towards Chang La, which is yet another difficult mountain pass. Take a quick rest at Chang La and let the stark black and white contrast surround you before kicking back and traveling towards Karu on the downhill side. Take another break and unwind for a time at Karu. Visit the Thikshey and Shey monasteries and Rancho School, made famous by the Three Idiots, while traveling from Karu to Leh. Return to your Leh hotel by evening and call it a day. You have the evening at your disposal. After your meals, recollect the sweet memories of all the 5 days spent in Leh, as you depart the day after.
