High altitude sickness can set in leading to vomiting, headaches and a possible return from Leh Ladakh. You may also get a Diamox prescribed by your general physician which will help you be prepared for any uneventful situation that might arise due to altitude sickness. Acclimatize for atleatst 24-48 hrss in Leh for a safe and enjoyable trip to Leh Ladakh. 

You should keep your body hydrated, drink lots of fluids at regular intervals, like warm water, juices, soups etc. Always carry a sweater or a light jacket, even if you are traveling in summer season. Weather in Leh Ladakh may change unexpectedly. Moreover, such warm layers will come in handy when you cross Khardung La, Chang La, or during your night stay at Pangong. 

Keep yourself covered in layers, especially in winters. Extremes of temperatures are not unusual in Leh Ladakh. During the day, it may be bright sunny, but as the sun sets, the temperature plunges very fast. So, also have a spare warm cloth with you, for unexpected weather changes. Generally, full body thermals, mufflers, caps, gloves, sweaters and jackets always come in handy in Leh Ladakh.

Vaccinations pertaining to Covid – 19 virus are mandatory in Leh Ladakh. Rest no vaccination like for malaria, yellow fever etc are not required in Leh Ladakh.
